Help is Available For Those with
Insurance Questions
September 1, 1999
La Grange: State Representative Eileen Lyons announced the creation of a hotline to assist Illinois consumers with insurance questions.
If you have an insurance question, you can receive assistance through the Illinois Insurance Hotline, a resource made possible by the insurance industry and the Illinois Insurance Association. Consumers incur no fee for using the service and can access it by making a toll-free telephone call. Consultants are available to answer basic insurance questions, distribute educational materials or suggest other resource options available to consumers.
"Insurance is a very complex subject," Representative Lyons said. "The information offered by the Illinois Insurance Hotline can help consumers make informed decisions about a variety of insurance issues," Lyons added.
The Hotline has worked with Illinois consumers since 1990. Consultants do not sell insurance nor endorse any particular company or agent. Rather, the Hotline’s primary focus is consumer education.
Representative Lyons concluded by saying, "This hotline empowers the Illinois citizen to become a better informed insurance consumer."
Consumers can reach the Illinois Insurance Hotline between 9:00am and 4:00pm Monday through Friday by dialing 1-800-444-3338.
